Powered parachute pilot training
Powered Parachute Flying
regulations
The process of becoming a qualified powered parachute pilot and obtaining the necessary authorization to fly is significantly easier and simpler compared to any other type of aircraft in Israel. This is because the regulations governing this type of aircraft are relatively minimal.
Israeli aviation regulations require a course completion certificate issued by an instructor certified by the Civil Aviation Authority.
The minimum age for learning to fly a powered parachute is 16.
The instructor will issue the course completion certificate upon successful completion of all the required stages and provided that the trainee has demonstrated an appropriate and safe level of flying proficiency.
Flight academy
The powered parachute flight course consists of approximately 13 hours of practical flight training and 5 hours of theoretical instruction. After approximately 10 hours of flight training, the trainee will undertake a solo flight, depending on the student pilot’s progress.
The course includes familiarization with the aircraft and its systems, inspecting and preparing the aircraft before flight, takeoff procedures, the flight itself, landing procedures, pre-flight troubleshooting, and identifying and resolving malfunctions during flight.
After each flight, a debriefing and review session is conducted.
